Annual Conferences

NAAPAE sponsors an annual conference held in a different location every year. The event is designed to promote the exchange of ideas and networking among participants and to provide them with the information and strategies necessary to enhance their involvement in the education of Asian and Pacific Americans.

NAAPAE’s annual conference has been in a different location throughout the United States and Canada. Previous conferences have been held in such cities as San Francisco, Washington DC, Honolulu, Denver, Seattle, Pasadena, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Chicago, New Orleans, Kona (Hawaii), Tacoma (Washington), and Vancouver.

The 2011 Annual Conference was held on October 7 and 8 on the campus of California State University, Long Beach. This meeting was co-sponsored by the Asian Studies Graduate Society, California State University, Long Beach, and the National Association for the Education and Advancement of Cambodian, Laotian, and Vietnamese Americans (NAFEA).
